Claudia-Renée Gonzalez grew up in the Central Valley of California. During her formative years she was encouraged by her family to explore her culture through the arts, beginning with dancing ballet folklorico and joining a local youth mariachi group. Having developed skills following a Music and Multimedia curriculum in high school, she moved to Texas in 2012 to pursue a degree in Music Composition and Technology.

Since 2013, Claudia-Renée has been a member of the all-female band Mariachi Las Alteñas, performing various concerts, festivals, and private events. As a member of the group, she has been able to travel the U.S. promoting feminism in the male-dominated genre and has recorded on the 2017 album Nuestros XV, released by Vargas Productions. Recently Mariachi Las Alteñas has appeared in Allure Magazine, NBC Nightly News, PBS, Vogue.com, SA Live, SXSW, and was awarded Best Local Band by KENS5. In 2018, she became Multimedia Director of the group and debuted an arrangement of hers at the Hollywood Bowl as a part of the historic Mariachi USA festival.

Claudia-Renée is growing her career as a role model in the performing arts community. In her free time, she gives private piano lessons and is an active member of the Recording Academy. She currently resides in San Antonio, Texas with her partner Christopher and two dogs Bella and Nellie.
